Simpukka (sea shell) was first designed and produced as a tufted rug at the American-Finnish company Finnrya in Finland in 1963. The same year it was redesigned and made at Tampella as a print fabric for Metsovaara. It is one of the statements of modern Nordic design.
This reactive print on flamed Libeco linen is created using the renowned Lyonnaise printing method — the pinnacle of textile craftsmanship — in its original colors.
The fabric is certified in accordance with STANDARD 100 by OEKOTEX® (SE 08-1621 Swerea IVF).
